So, it’s safe to say it’s been an eventful week. From driving on the ‘wrong’ side of the road to getting lost in the dark, however, it was all laughs and memories made. It’s been a pretty full on week i must say from start to finish. My work team has gone from 6 people to 20 in a week so, i’ll be honest, it’s been pretty overwhelming but I’m happy to say i am absolutely loving it. I wouldn’t change a thing. I have an amazing team and a beautiful place to live for the next 6 months.
Monday morning it all started. Up at 3am to get to the airport. I’m not a morning person either by the way guys so that was pretty hard to start off with!! Saying goodbye to my parents was harder than i expected. We all got emotional but i just kept reminding myself this is going to be an amazing adventure. I met some of my team in the Weatherspoons in the airport, no alcoholic drinks though, thankfully, at that time especially! The flight went well and i wasn’t sick (i get really bad travel sickness but i take tablets). We made our way to our apartments, which at first i was worried about. But now i’ve made it homely, put up photos and unpacked i am very happy with it. It’s even bigger than my room at home!!
I’d love to say that the weather here is amazingly hot and sunny all day, but, it’s not. It is sunny but when you are in the shade it is freezing!! It’s also been pretty windy here at the moment so that hasn’t helped. So far i’ve been wearing things i would be at home, leggings, top and jumper. But it looks like it’s going to be getting a bit warmer now it’s getting closer to may. Let’s hope so anyways! Look at me, a typical Brit talking about the weather!!
We had a half day the mid-week and we found this amazing little harbour marina thing! It’s close by and has loads of nice bars, restuarants and cafes which is perfect! It’s a 10 minute drive away but its so straight forward. I couldn’t resist taking a little shot doing Dancers pose with the incredible scenery behind. We’ve also managed to find the local Lidl which is essential!! I don’t usually shop in a Lidl at home but here, it is perfect for all the essential snacks and cleaning products we need for the season ahead.
I also managed to get on an excursion the other day to Lake Kerkini which was honestly beautiful. It’s a huge lake with so much wildlife, we saw pelicans and lots of other birds. Apparently there are supposed to be up to 5000 flamingoes there in August/September which i would love to see! We also went on this mini jeep safari where we saw water buffalo which was pretty cool!
But anyways, it’s been a great week so far. I’m hoping i will find out my schedule soon of what i’m going to be doing for the next 6 months so that will be handy! Today i am going to go over all my classes that i need to teach just to make sure i am still happy with them. I am going to be teaching Sha’bam, BodyCombat, BodyBalance and CXWORX. I actually don’t have a favourite one at the moment but i do love Sha’bam. It’s just a class full of fun and no rules, you just dance and enjoy yourself. BodyCombat is just a feel good and powerful workout, throwing punches and kicks all over the shop! BodyBalance is the chilled relaxing yoga/tai-chi/pilates class which will be great to do first thing in the morning or last thing at night. CXWORX you use a band to add more resistance so it’s quite tough! But all in all, i actually love teaching all of them! I think i have 100% been transformed into a Les Mills lover!
Let me know if there is anything you guys want to know, from the classes i will be teaching to living/working away. Drop a comment below! If you have tried any of the classes i’d love to know which one and what you thought of them 🙂
