My Top 5 Fitness Apps

Health and Fitness apps are becoming more and more popular everyday. They are easy to use, convenient and saves carrying around books etc. So, i’ll go straight into it…I hope you are as excited as i am!! Oh and by the way these aren’t in any particular order as i love them all!

  1. BodySpace App

Some of you may or may not have heard of this app. It’s basically a community app linked with where you can track, share and follow workouts, it’s also great for getting new exercises for specific muscles. I mainly use it to track my workouts. You can input all the exercises you perform with the reps and sets, once you have completed it, it will save, but more importantly, when you go to do that workout again it’s all there ready and waiting for you and reminds you of what you performed last week, AND if you’ve progressed. You can make friends through the app and see how everyone is getting on, it’s really a great fitness community!

2. My FitnessPal

Now this one i’m sure you all would have heard of. Weather you are tracking calories/macros to lose or gain weight this app makes your life so much easier. You can simply scan an item, select how much you are consuming and voila, calories and macros entered into your diary. It can be a real help for newbies into the health and fitness world to make them more aware of how much/little they eat of a certain macro (Carbs/Protein/Fats). This app will really help you reach your fitness goal but remember…don’t get too caught up with calorie counting!

3. Pacer

I know most phones these days have a built in step counter app, but i feel like this app is so much more accurate. I don’t know why, but that’s just my opinion. You’d be surprised just how many steps you do in the day when you work up town. You have your phone on you most of the day so it’ll just rack up those steps automatically!

4. Nike Training Club

This is a great app for those of you who aren’t sure what to do at the gym and would prefer a quick workout in the comfort of your own home. You can choose weather to focus on strength, endurance or mobility so there really is something for everyone, no matter what your ability. There are short burst workouts or longer workouts if you have time. It shows you the exercise and is very simple and easy to use.

5. Headspace

Take 10 minutes out of your morning or evening to get some headspace. This app is great for relaxing the mind. It’s a meditation app which i like to do either first thing in the morning or just before i go to bed. Andy, the voiced used, isn’t too soft and soppy like the end of a yoga class, but peaceful and relaxing. This is a great app to use for those of you who struggle to get to sleep, or just don’t get much time to unwind.
