I’m sure you’ve all heard about it now! High Intensity Interval Training, or HIIT. Its something that you can do within 10-15 minutes and with no equipment. You complete an exercise for a certain amount of time or reps, rest for a short amount of time (something like 20 seconds) then you go again. It’s simple! HIIT has got many benefits…here are just a few!
Efficient. If you are lacking time and need to get in a quick but effective workout, HIIT is a MUST. 10-15 minutes of high intensity exercise can be done at home, in your lunch break or even have a quick sweat session before bed…make sure to shower though hey! Check out my YouTube channel for my full bodyweight HIIT session using NO equipment!
You will burn MORE fat doing HIIT then you will doing any other kind of exercise. The reason for this is that your body takes longer to recover as it’s preparing for the next high intensity exercise, meaning that you burn calories even when you are on your way home or watching TV. Bonus!
As i mentioned before you do not need any equipment. You don’t need a fancy gym membership. You don’t need to buy lots of crazy equipment online. You can just go for a walk with a friend and use the local bench in the park. Plan out the exercises you are going to do and boom, sorted! Or even better, you don’t even need to go outside…a small space in your home will suffice and get the job done, get you sweaty and your heart pumping uncontrollably. Which is all good!
Lastly, it’s god damn hard work! You would have thought that 10 minutes of exercise would be a doddle, but HIIT really challenges your body to its limits. You can push yourself to a certain extent of course but you should have more motivation to go hard as you only have to exercise for 10 minutes…i’ll say it again…no excuses! It’s great for those of you that aren’t a fan of 20minutes steady treadmill run, or just long and boring slow exercise. If you want to burn fat and fast through in some HIIT 2-3 times a week.
If you aren’t sure on what exercises to do check out my YouTube video where i show you my HIIT workout, give it a go and let me know how you get on!
